In 1999, while working as a bridal and alterations seamstress for a dry cleaning chain, Heidi was asked to make Irish dance school dresses for a local dance school. The experience of working with unusual fabrics and embroidery proved fascinating and led to future projects working for a rodeo costumer and as a period clothing costumer for the Wisconsin State Historical Society. Today she combines her knowledge of color and embroidery design with her love of Irish dance to create unique dresses with the dancer in mind.
